Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Limudo ("Limudo", "we", "us") collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. It applies to teachers, schools, and the students they teach on the platform. It is written to be read - if anything is unclear, ask us at admin@limudo.com.

1. What we collect

Account details: your name, email, username, password (stored only as a secure hash), country and city.
Student details: the names and class details a teacher adds for their students, and parent email addresses a teacher adds so the platform can send parents updates and confirmations. Students do not have independent accounts - they sign in under their teacher's setup.
Photos: teacher profile photos, and student photos where a teacher adds them. Student photos are visible only within that teacher's own classroom space.
Content: games, texts, worksheets, images and other material teachers create or upload.
Sponsorships: when someone sponsors learning through a teacher's link or the site, the sponsor's name and dedication message, and the payment record. Card details are processed by our payment provider (Stripe) - we never see or store full card numbers.
Messages: direct and group messages sent on the platform.
Calls and recordings: video calls run on the platform, and recordings where a teacher uses the recording feature.
Usage data: who did what and when - logins, pages used, games played, points, purchases, AI generations and similar records.
Technical data: IP addresses, browser type and error logs, used to keep the service running and secure.

2. Why we collect it

to provide the service: run classes, games, calls, messages, points and reports;
to keep the platform secure and running well - including investigating reported or flagged misuse;
to fix problems, prevent misuse, and improve Limudo;
to send service emails (welcome, verification, account and billing notices). We do not send advertising.

3. Who can see it

Limudo accesses platform data only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service - for example to provide support, fix problems, and investigate reported or flagged misuse of the platform. Access is limited to what those purposes need and is logged.
Teachers see their own classroom: their students, content, messages, calls and reports.
School admins see the teachers and activity within their own school, where the teacher belongs to a school on the platform.
Service providers who help us run Limudo process limited data on our behalf: hosting (servers in Australia), email delivery, video calls (Daily.co), AI generation (Google), and payments (Stripe). Each receives only what its function needs.
No one else. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not show one teacher's data to another (except sharing a teacher or school explicitly turns on).

4. Children's data

Students on Limudo are children, and we treat their data with particular care. Student accounts are created by teachers or schools, and the teacher or school is responsible for having the authority - from a parent or guardian, or through the school - to add the student and their information. We use student data only to provide the educational service. We never advertise to students and never sell their data. Students' conduct and safety - on and off the platform - remain the responsibility of their teacher and school; Limudo does not monitor or supervise student behaviour.

5. Where data is stored

Platform data is stored on servers in Australia. Some service providers (such as Google, Daily.co and Stripe) process data overseas under their own safeguards. Teachers and students access their data from wherever they are.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and platform data while the account is active. When an account closes, we delete or de-identify the data within a reasonable period, except what the law requires us to keep (for example, payment records) and routine backups, which age out on their normal cycle.

7. Security

Passwords are stored as secure hashes, connections are encrypted, and access to platform data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the regulator where the law requires.

8. Your choices

You can see and correct your account details in your settings. Teachers manage the student details they add. To access, correct or delete information - or to close an account - email admin@limudo.com. Parents with questions about a child's data should contact the child's teacher or school first, but may always contact us.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you have under the Australian Privacy Act or other privacy laws that apply to you. Where overseas teachers use Limudo, their local privacy laws may give them additional rights; we honour those we are required to.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially we will give at least 14 days' notice by email or on the site before the change takes effect.
