Terms of Use

These terms are between Limudo ("Limudo", "we", "us") and you, the teacher who creates an account. By creating an account or using Limudo, you accept these terms. If you use Limudo on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that school.

1. The service

Limudo is an online platform for Jewish education: teachers create and run learning content, games, classes, video calls, chazoro (revision) sessions, and related tools for their students. Features may be added, changed, or removed over time.

2. Your account

You must give accurate details when registering, keep your password secure, and be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live). You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

3. Fees and price changes

Current prices are shown on the pricing page. Some features are free; others need a paid subscription. We may change our prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or on the site before a new price applies to you. A change applies only from your next billing period - never retroactively. If you don't accept a new price, you can cancel before it takes effect and keep your paid features until the end of the period you have paid for. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires.

4. Sponsorships

Families and supporters can sponsor a day, week, month or term of learning - through a teacher's sponsorship link or the site's sponsorship page. <b>Sponsorships made for a teacher on a free plan are paid to the platform and are not passed on to the teacher.</b> Teachers on a paid plan receive the full amount of the sponsorships made through their link - the platform covers the card-processing fees and pays the teacher out manually. Sponsorships are dedications of learning time, not purchases of goods or services, and are not refundable once the dedication has appeared.

5. Your content

You own the content you create or upload - your games, texts, worksheets, images, recordings and other material ("Your Content"). You give Limudo a limited licence to host, store and display Your Content only as needed to run the service for you and your students. We don't sell Your Content and we don't hand it to other customers.

You are solely responsible for Your Content: that you have the right to use it, that it is accurate and appropriate for your students, and that it complies with these terms and the law.

6. Your students and children's data

Your students are children. By adding a student to Limudo, you warrant that you have authority to do so - from the student's parent or guardian, or through your school where the school holds that authority - and that you have told them what information you add.

You are responsible for your students' conduct and safety - in your classes and anywhere on Limudo. Supervision of students stays with you and your school: Limudo provides the tool, and does not monitor or supervise student behaviour. You are also responsible for meeting the privacy and child-protection laws that apply to you and your school. We process student data only to provide the service, as our Privacy Policy describes. We don't advertise to students and we don't sell student data.

7. Data we store

To run Limudo we store the data the platform handles: account details, student details you add, class content, messages, call recordings, and usage records (who did what and when).

Limudo may access this data only as needed to operate, secure and improve the service - for example to provide support, fix problems, and investigate reported or flagged misuse of the platform. Access is limited to what those purposes need and is logged.

By creating an account you consent to this storage and access, and you confirm you have the authority (from parents, guardians, or your school) for student data to be stored and accessed this way. Our Privacy Policy sets this out in full.

8. AI tools

Limudo includes AI features that generate games and other content from your instructions. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable. The AI is a tool, not an author: you are responsible for reviewing everything it produces and for anything you publish or give to students. Don't rely on AI output for religious rulings, factual accuracy, or student welfare without checking it yourself.

9. Recordings and calls

Calls on Limudo may be recorded. Recording laws differ from place to place, and many require the consent of everyone on the call - and for children, a parent or guardian's consent. Getting whatever consent the law requires is your responsibility. Limudo provides the recording feature; you decide whether and how to use it.

10. One platform, separate classrooms

Each teacher's space on Limudo is separate. Content, student details, messages and activity are not shared between teachers - except where a teacher or school explicitly chooses to share inside their own school, or a paid plan feature enables wider sharing. We build and test the platform to keep this separation, and we treat any breach of it as a serious incident.

11. Acceptable use

You must not:

• upload unlawful, harmful or inappropriate material, or material you have no right to use;
• misuse student data, or contact students outside the educational purpose of the platform;
• probe, attack or interfere with the platform, or with other users' accounts or data;
• copy or resell the platform itself;
• use Limudo for anything unrelated to education.

12. Service provided as-is

Limudo is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it reliable, but we don't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every generated item will be correct.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where the law lets us limit our liability for breach of a consumer guarantee, we limit it to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows:

• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss - lost income, lost data, lost opportunities - arising from your use of Limudo.
• Our total liability to you for any claim connected with Limudo is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or AUD $100 if you paid nothing).
• We are not responsible for Your Content, for what AI tools generate, for how recordings are used, or for your students' conduct.

Nothing in this clause limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that risks harm to students, other users or the platform, or where the law requires it. Where practical we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. You may close your account at any time. When an account closes, access stops; we keep records only where the law requires and delete the rest within a reasonable period.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 14 days' notice by email or on the site. Continuing to use Limudo after the notice period means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction - except that if you are a consumer entitled to the protection of your local courts and mandatory local laws, nothing in these terms takes that protection away.
